FareShare saves food and changes lives. FareShare is a registered charity that tackles food waste and food poverty in the UK. They take fresh, in-date surplus food from the food and drink industry and redistribute it to over 2,000 charities across the UK including homeless shelters, children's breakfast clubs, drug rehabilitation centers, women's refuges, and day centers for the elderly.
Last year they redistributed 8,500 tonnes of food – enough for 17.7 million meals, feeding around 194,650 people each week while protecting the environment from unnecessary waste. But it's about more than meals. The frontline organizations who receive their food provide life changing support for vulnerable people within their local communities.
